Applications for the McKesson Pharmacy Scholarship Program for customers, sponsored by the McKesson Foundation are now available. Applications must be postmarked no later than October 31, 2007.
Who is eligible?
The McKesson Pharmacy Scholarship Program is open to McKesson Canada customers. Independent, chain, banner or hospital pharmacists can nominate their children and grandchildren for the McKesson Scholarship Program, as well as any pharmacy student employed at their pharmacy.
Customers can nominate a maximum of two students per academic year who simply fill out and send in an application. Every applicant must be a student who is currently enrolled in, or has been accepted to, an accredited school of pharmacy. The student must be in his or her 3rd, 4th, 5th or 6th year of collegiate study.
Scholarships
The McKesson Foundation awards 50 new $1,000 scholarships each year for one year of full-time study, and each recipient can apply to renew his or her scholarship for an additional three years.
The winning attributes
Scholarship America independently manages our scholarship program. This non-profit student aid service organization selects scholarship winners on the basis of:
• Academic record
• Potential to succeed
• Demonstrated leadership
• Participation in school and community activities
• Honors
• Statement of educational and career goals
• Unusual personal or family circumstances
• A recommendation from the pharmacy school
Scholarship winners will be notified by late December.
Recipients are selected without regard to race, color, creed, religion, gender, disability or national origin.
