Markham, Ontario – May 4, 2018 – McKesson Canada’s independent retail pharmacy banners, Guardian, I.D.A., Remedy’sRx and The Medicine Shoppe Canada are joining forces with the Canadian Mental Health Association to support Canadian Mental Health Week and dispel stigma associated with mental illness and build awareness and understanding of what mental health really is for all Canadians.
“The struggles of mental illness affect Canadians from coast to coast. Our banner members have come together once again to make a difference in the communities in which they operate,” said Terry Stychin, President, Remedy’sRx and The Medicine Shoppe Canada. “We are proud to be part of this important movement and to shape the conversation around mental illness.”
One in five Canadians live with mental health problems, mental illness or addiction. Today, McKesson Canada and its independent pharmacy banners join Canadians to celebrate resilience and to #GETLOUD about the need for timely access to mental health services and support.
The Canadian Mental Health Association’s Mental Health Week is promoting and acknowledging the role that good mental health plays in living a full and meaningful life. Visit www.mentalhealthweek.ca to learn more about what mental health really is, and to get tools to help you #GETLOUD.
